To celebrate a new limited edition collection, Alberta Ferretti is taking it to the screens before hitting the runway.
The designer made a short film featuring her Fall 2016 collection to share online before it officially makes its debut during Couture Week.
While a video presentation may seem like a Tom Ford follow-up, Ferretti credits keeping up with the fast pace of cyberspace for her unexpected decision.
"Today, more than ever, fashion must send messages that are fast, clear, and rapidly accessible to a wider audience, and through the internet, and social networks fashion participates in this global movement that defines taste these days," Ferretti said in a press release.
The video, shot by Louis & Iango in Venice, reveals the dark side of golden age glamour.
The looks—worn by actress and model Malgosia Bela—hit a similar note, with black lace and '20s silhouettes, but with an exotic tinge seen in metallic zebra print and snake motifs.
The collection was inspired by Marchesa Luis Casati, a mysterious and eccentric Italian heiress at the turn of the 20th century. Watch the collection unfold up close below.
